Career & Coaching Workshop : Re·word·l·ding
Dear Alumni,
On Thursday , 3th join us for our morning whorkshop - from 8:30am to 9:30am on Zoom ,
we invite you to discover the recent Re word l ding initiative initiated and supported by Alicia Birr.
Alicia Birr graduated in 2012-2014 of the IFM executive MBA . She is now in charge of "Consumer Insights" at Google France and also author of Re·word·l·ding
Re·word·l·ding.... the dedicated site tells us that it is a matter of deconstructing language to rebuild a just and diverse world, encouraging a critical look at everyday words and the practice of a precise and inclusive language.
Re·word·l·ding.... the manifesto tells us that the word "Reworlding" is an English word derived from the verb reworld, a neologism that means: reconstruct
Alicia Birr writes on the Re·word·l·ding website and on instagram articles in French on:
- Basic principles of an inclusive language;
- How to deconstruct certain words or expressions that contribute to maintaining sexism or any other form of discrimination;
- Cultural references to empower oneself to become a better ally;
In the creative industries, and specificaly in Fashion and Luxury, we are all called upon to create or share and disseminate contents that structure or influence our representation of society.
Many of us are aware that professional words and expressions sometimes reproduce stereotypes to the point of involuntary continuation of different discrimination forms
We receive Alicia Birr for this workshop for at least two reasons:
- on the one hand to discuss her commitment and how she has succeeded in giving more space to her values in her personal and professional life.
- on the other hand, to start identifying the words and expressions that can alert us as much as simple and very easy to use inclusive alternatives in our different professional contexts .
(This workshop directly related to the specificities of French language will be held in French )
